Daniela Laurel-Fois

Dr. Daniela Laurel-Fois is an Assistant Professor of Finance and Accounting at IÉSEG School of Management where she teaches subjects related to Corporate Finance and Management Accounting. She completed her Ph.D in Management Engineering (with merit) at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy, two years of which were spent as a visiting scholar to the Department of Accounting and Control at HEC Paris.
Before joining IÉSEG, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Accounting and Control at ESSEC Paris. She is also an adjunct professor of the Ateneo de Manila University School of Government (Philippines) where she helped launch a Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship certificate program for Filipino overseas foreign workers in Europe.

Daniela’s research concentrates on the intersection between Finance and Sustainability. In particular, she focuses on two streams: Responsible Investment – the inclusion of environmental, social, governance and controversial business involvement issues in traditional investment analyses and Development Finance – how finance can be made useful to address pressing social issues, especially in the context of third country migrants. Prior to her academic career, Daniela worked as an Investment Banker (Mergers and Acquisitions) at the Royal Bank of Scotland (formerly ABN AMRO) in the Netherlands and at Credit Suisse in the Philippines. She holds an MBA from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain and a BSc. in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines.
