Dr Janice Byrne is originally from Dublin, Ireland. She completed her Ph.D studies in EMLYON Business School in France in 2012. Her dissertation focused on the design and delivery of entrepreneurship education – exploring the rationale for (and outcomes of) delivering tailored entrepreneurship programmes for women, managers and engineering students. Dr. Byrne is now an assistant professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at IESEG School of Management in Paris.
Her current research focuses on entrepreneurial role models, business growth intentions, work life balance as well as the gendered nature of family business succession. Dr. Byrne was also academic director of LedByHER from 2014 to 2018 – an entrepreneurship education and training programme for women who have experienced violence or extreme personal hardship and aiming to support these women as they rebuild their lives through personal development and venture creation.
