Johanna Järvelä

She is Assistant Professor of Business & Society at IESEG School of Management and Visiting Fellow at Copenhagen Business School. She is from Finland and received PhD from Bayes Business School in London in 2022.
Her research focuses on the interplay between private and public governance in defining and guiding societal good, the role of state and politics in corporate responsibility (CSR), the role of businesses in development. Thematically her research centres around natural resource extraction, renewables energies and development finance. Lately she has been interested in using the Business and Human Rights and environmental justice lenses to explore the public-private dynamics. Her work has been published in the Journal of Business Ethics and Academy of Management Proceedings.
