Dr Lies Bouten works as an associate professor at IESEG School of Management Lille-Paris. In 2011, she obtained her PhD entitled ‘On the determinants of social and environmental reporting and its role as an accountability mechanism’ from Ghent University.
In broad terms, her recent research focuses on accountability and sustainability accounting. More particular, her work focuses on the interface between external sustainability reporting, management accounting and external assurance. Dr. Bouten’s research has been published in various scholarly journals, including Accounting Forum, Accounting, Auditing & Accountability journal, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting and Management Accounting research. Dr. Bouten has been a member of the scientific committee of some CSEAR conferences (Italy, 2014; France 2015). In 2014, she also organized an Emerging Scholar Consortium on Social and Environmental Accounting at IESEG.
